Age Calculator

Open the tool →

This tool works out exactly how much time has passed between two dates. Enter your birthdate, and it calculates your age as of right now — or, if you fill in the optional second date, your age as of that specific date instead.

The result comes back two ways. First, the everyday format: years, months, and days (for example, "27 YEARS, 4 MONTHS, 12 DAYS"). Second, three running totals underneath: the same span expressed as total months lived, total weeks lived, and total days lived. Useful when you want the big number rather than the calendar breakdown.

The "calculate age on" field is optional. Leave it blank and it defaults to today's date — handy for just checking your current age. Fill it in and you can work out how old someone was, or will be, on any date: a contract deadline, a historical event, a future milestone, whatever you're trying to pin down.

It's a date-math tool, nothing more. It doesn't know your timezone preferences beyond what your browser reports, doesn't store anything, and doesn't need an account. Enter a date, click CALCULATE, read the result.

Use it for figuring out someone's exact age for a form, working out how many days old a baby is, checking age eligibility against a cutoff date, or just satisfying curiosity about how many days you've actually been alive. It runs entirely in your browser — nothing you enter leaves your machine.

How to use it

  1. Enter your birthdate in the YOUR BIRTHDATE field.
  2. Optionally enter a different date in CALCULATE AGE ON if you want the age as of a specific date instead of today.
  3. Click CALCULATE to see the age breakdown in years/months/days, plus totals in months, weeks, and days.

Worked example

Birthdate: 1998-03-15, target date left blank (defaults to today, 2026-08-28). Clicking CALCULATE returns something like "28 YEARS, 5 MONTHS, 13 DAYS" as the headline, with the details line underneath showing the equivalent total months, total weeks, and total days lived since that birthdate.

FAQ

What if I don't enter a target date?

It defaults to today's date, so you get your current age.

Can I calculate age as of a past or future date, not just today?

Yes. Fill in the CALCULATE AGE ON field with any date and the result is calculated relative to that date instead of today.

Why does it show months and weeks and days, not just years?

The years/months/days line is the everyday answer. The totals underneath (total months, total weeks, total days) are the same span expressed as one running number, which is often what you actually need for eligibility checks or curiosity.

Does it account for leap years?

Yes — it works directly off real calendar dates, so leap years and varying month lengths are handled automatically rather than assumed.
