CPS Test — Click Speed Test

Free · no signup · runs entirely in your browser

Open the tool →

Click the box as fast as you can. That's the test. It measures clicks per second, which is the number gamers, Minecraft PvPers and people with strong opinions about their mouse all want to know and rarely trust.

Pick a duration first: 1 second, 5 seconds or 10 seconds. Five is the default. Your first click starts the countdown, and every click after that is counted live in the big number while the timer ticks down in tenths of a second. When it hits zero the result appears: total clicks divided by the duration, shown to one decimal place. That is your CPS.

A 1-second test rewards a burst. A 10-second test rewards stamina and punishes the wrist you've been neglecting. Run all three and you learn something a single number hides: whether you can hold your speed or just spike. A best-CPS counter keeps your top score for as long as the tab stays open, so you can chase yourself without keeping notes.

One honest note. The first click only starts the clock; it isn't counted, so a short test is slightly harsher than the number of times your finger moved. Everything is the same for everyone, so scores stay comparable run to run. Your mouse, your click technique (jitter, butterfly, drag) and your browser all affect the result. We're not going to pretend a website can judge which technique is legal on your favourite server.

It's free, there's no sign-up, and it runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored on a server, and the best score disappears when you close the tab. Just a box, a timer and the uncomfortable truth about your clicking hand.

How to use it

  1. Choose a duration from the dropdown: 1, 5 or 10 seconds.
  2. Click the box to start the countdown, then keep clicking as fast as you can until the timer reaches 0.0s.
  3. Read your CPS and your session best, then click the box again to run another test.

Worked example

You pick the 10 second test and click the box. The timer starts at 10.0s and the big counter climbs as you click. When it hits zero you have 74 clicks counted, so the result box reads CPS 7.4 and BEST CPS shows 7.4. You switch to the 1 second test, burst to 9 clicks, and see CPS 9.0. BEST CPS updates to 9.0, which proves a burst beats stamina and your wrist is not dead yet.

FAQ

How is CPS calculated?

Your counted clicks divided by the test duration in seconds, shown to one decimal place. 50 clicks in a 5 second test is 10.0 CPS.

Does the first click count?

No. The first click starts the timer and every click after it is counted, so the count is one lower than the number of times you pressed in total.

What durations can I test?

1 second, 5 seconds or 10 seconds, chosen from the dropdown. Five seconds is the default. Longer tests show whether you can hold your speed.

Is my best score saved?

Only while the tab is open. BEST CPS is kept in the page for your session. Nothing is uploaded or stored on a server, and closing the tab resets it.
