Days Between Dates Calculator
Free · no signup · runs entirely in your browser
Open the tool →Two jobs, one small tool. How many days are there between two dates? And what date is it if you add or subtract a number of days from a starting date? That covers deadlines, countdowns, notice periods, pregnancy-week maths, and the classic 'how long have we actually been doing this'.
Date Difference mode takes a start date and an end date from the normal browser date pickers and gives you the gap in days, plus the same gap broken into whole weeks and leftover days. Order doesn't matter: if you put the later date first you still get a positive number, because the tool takes the absolute difference.
Add/Subtract mode takes a start date and a number of days. Type 30 and you get the date 30 days later. Type a negative number such as -90 and you get the date 90 days earlier. The result is shown as a plain readable date, weekday included, so 'is that a Sunday?' answers itself.
What it doesn't do, said plainly: it counts calendar days only. It does not skip weekends or public holidays, and it won't express the gap as months and years. For a contract that says 'within 30 days' it's exactly right. For 'within 20 working days' you'll need another tool or a calendar and some patience.
It's free, there's no sign-up, and the calculation runs entirely in your browser. The dates you pick are never uploaded or stored, so checking an awkward legal deadline or a birthday you forgot is nobody's business but yours.
How to use it
- Pick a mode: Date Difference to compare two dates, or Add/Subtract to move one date by a number of days.
- Enter the start and end dates, or a start date and a day count (use a negative number to go back in time).
- Press CALCULATE and read the result: the day count with weeks and days, or the resulting date.
Worked example
In Date Difference mode you enter a start date of 1 March 2026 and an end date of 30 April 2026. Press CALCULATE and the result shows 60 days, which is 8 weeks and 4 days. Switch to Add/Subtract, enter 1 March 2026 and 30 days, and the result reads Tue Mar 31 2026. Enter -30 instead and you get Fri Jan 30 2026.
FAQ
Does it count weekends and holidays?
Yes, it counts every calendar day. It does not skip weekends or public holidays, so it cannot give you working days.
Does the order of the two dates matter?
No. In Date Difference mode the tool uses the absolute difference, so swapping start and end gives the same positive number of days.
Can I subtract days from a date?
Yes. In Add/Subtract mode enter a negative number such as -90 and the tool returns the date 90 days earlier.
Are my dates sent anywhere?
No. The calculation runs in your browser, so the dates you enter are never uploaded or stored.
